5 Things to do on a Friday Night When You’re on a Budget

  1. Home Facials! Invite a few girlfriends over, ask them to bring a couple of their favorite masks, toners, cleansers, exfoliants, serums, or moisturisers (you’ll be surprised what you come up with when everyone chips in!), slice a cucumber, perhaps crack open a bottle of bubbly, and you’re off..!
  2. Homemade pizzas, red wine, and movies! Homemade pizzas are cheap, fun to make, and yummy! Flat bread, tomato paste, swiss cheese, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, arugula, and goats cheese is a good combo.
  3. Korean Spa. For about $10–$15 per head, you and your friends can enjoy hot tubs, saunas, and various healing rooms (salt, emerald, clay etc) at a traditional Korean spa. Wi Spa in Downtown LA is a must, although prepare to get naked!
  4. Star gazing. If you’re spending the night with a special someone, a blissful walk under the stars followed by an ice-cream is the ultimate date. The Griffith Park Observatory in Los Angeles is particularly special at night—you can look out over the whole city and explore the fabulous architecture of the Observatory.
  5. Board games! Before we became devoted to our android devices, iPads, and laptops, remember how fun and engrossing it was to commune around the Monopoly board? Pictionary and Scattergories are also good if you have a group. And if there’s a connoisseur or two at the table you might want to try your luck at a complex card game like 500. Trust me, you’ll be cutting the deck, adding scores, and drinking whisky ’til sunrise.
