10 Reasons Why You Should Grow Your Pubes

1.

It takes most of us until we’re at least 18 years old to grow a full bush of pubes. To wax or shave it all off just seems counterproductive.

2.

Hair in its nature is sexy. That’s partly why we have it, and this principle applies to all cultures throughout history. A woman’s hair has always been seen as her greatest weapon of seduction, so much so in fact that in both Muslim and Orthodox Jewish religions, women are expected to cover their hair in public (i.e. there is a time and place to be so damn sexy). But this sexiness doesn’t end at head hair. Eyebrows and eyelashes on both men and women can serve as an aphrodisiac. And despite certain popular belief, chest hair on men is PROFOUNDLY sexy. Well the same goes for pubes. Some of the most beautiful portraiture of women remains to be from the Renaissance period. Not only do their wavy head hair locks arouse a sensuality, their blooming bushes invite a roar-ness, a naturalness that is both beautiful and unmistakably erotic. (*Wikipedia defines pubic hair as “a secondary sex characteristic,” and states that “Many cultures regard pubic hair to be erotic, while in most cultures, both men and women are expected to cover their pubic hair at all times.”)

3.

It is believed and also supported by various scientific studies that pubes release pheromones. Research suggests that women are attracted to men with a very different MHC (Major Histocompatibility Complex—the chemicals that produce pheromones), perhaps because genetically diverse offspring will be better equipped to take on life’s challenges and resist disease. Therefore, nature intended on us receiving one another’s pube odours so as to determine our strongest destinies.

4.

Prepubescent girls and boys don’t have pubic hair. Adults do.

5.

If you’re learning how to French braid, pubes are a great mannequin to get started on.

6.

Practically speaking, like eyebrows and eyelashes do for eyes, pubic hair protects the genital region from dirt and foreign particles. Since infections like UTI’s are often caused by bacteria, it is believed that someone with bush is less likely to suffer from that kind of infection than someone with a Brazilian.

7.

Pubes act as a sort of insulator to our crown jewels. Gotta make sure those reproductive organs stay nice and toasty…

8.

A Brazilian wax costs anywhere from $50 to $80. Surely we all have better things to do with that kind of money.

9.

In-growns suck balls.

10.

Ask yourself this: Who are you really doing it (de-hairing) for? Honestly? If you’re a girl and your answer is “for men,” then just don’t. Why not be your true, natural self and in doing so, stand out from the crowd? #headliner

An interesting fact about the history of pubes in culture

Among the upper class in 19-century Britain, pubic hair was often collected as a souvenir, worn as cockades in men’s hats, and also exchanged as special gifts between lovers.
