Carrie Fisher, You Fucking Legend!

Carrie Fisher’s Good Morning America interview has gone viral. And for good reason. Promoting Star Wars: The Force Awakens (in theaters in three days!!!) and seated beside her droopy tongued-dog Gary—who nearly but not quite stole the show—Fisher gave what is arguably one of the funniest television interviews ever. EVER.

While the entire conversation was loaded with unpredictable wacky, doggy humor, Fisher’s most memorable remark was a slap at Hollywood’s ageism, evidently experienced first-hand by 59-year-old Fisher. The interviewer wanted to know whether it took much convincing on George Lucas’s part to get her to return to the franchise as Princess Leia. Fisher’s response: “I’m an actress in Hollywood over the age of 40, let’s say. And we can also say, over the age of 50—well you could say it, but not with real conviction. So no, you ask me to be in a movie, I’m going to do it.”

But quoting this interview doesn’t do it justice. Watch it, Gary, and Fisher in all their glory here.
