Chanel Pre-Fall 2015 Takes Us Back to the Elizabethan Dayzz

Chanel Métiers d’Art show

This week saw the Chanel Métiers d’Art show at Schloss Leopldskron in Salzburg. Chanel has staged one of its most opulent shows yet, bringing to life traditional Austrian costumes through luxurious laces, decadent embroideries, and Edelweiss, a token of love found in the Austrian mountains, sprinkled throughout the collection.

But in true Chanel style, while the annual show which brought Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth of Austria back to life, the 19th-century inspiration was very much modernized through Chanel’s traditional hard black leather looks and the genius idea of “braid phones”—the modern take on 19th -entury hairstyles, which are, in fact, luxurious headphones. The reference to modern day technology was the perfect way to bring such a romantic, traditional, and fairytale collection into the modern world.

I see Chanel is STILL marching the same tired-ass tweed suits down the runway. Yawn! Way to mix it up. I love you Viva ❤️❤️❤️
