House of Herrera Lights up Mexico City!

Carolina Herrera’s House of Herrera staged a star-studded fashion runway show in Mexico City on Friday. The show included a mix of the Spring 2015 Carolina Herrera Ready-to-Wear collection and the debut of CH Carolina Herrera Men’s and Women’s Spring 2015 collections, followed by a gala in collaboration with the local organization Makken Moda. The event was held at the historic landmark Universidad Claustro de Sor Juana, and among the high-profile guests from Mexico City, Dianna Agron, Olivia Palermo, Emily Van Camp, and Dita Von Teese were also in attendance.

The Venezuela-born fashion designer who is now in her mid 70’s (and going strong!) was frequently associated with Mick and Bianca Jagger, and the Andy Warhol/Studio 54 scene. Then, the quintessential Vogue Editor in Chief and dear friend to Herrera, Diana Vreeland, recognized her unique and dramatic style and suggested that she become a fashion designer.

Herrera has dressed First Ladys from Jacqueline Onassis to Michelle Obama, and her designs have been critiqued by the New York Times as “elegant and worldly without ever being fussy.”

The rest, I guess, is history. Enjoy the collection.
