New Zealand has delivered the goods once again with the young brother-sister duo, Broods. They hit the US this week with a new tour, following the late August release of their third single “Mother & Father.”
Since the indie synth-pop band burst onto the scene late last year with their hugely successful moody first single “Bridges,” Georgia and Caleb Nott haven’t looked back.
Georgia explained in a recent interview with the BBC that Broods’ latest single was inspired by her moving out of the family home. She told journalist Mark Savage: “The first time our mother heard it, she cried.”
The duo first found success at a New Zealand talent competition—where their now producer, the Grammy-award-winning Joel Little who also produced fellow Kiwi Lorde’s breakthrough single “Royals”—was judging the competition.
The band’s debut album, Evergreen, is set for release in the US and Canada on October 7. With little sister Olivia contributing vocals to one of the tracks, this could be one hot family to watch. In the meantime, check out Broods’ singles to date.
